Manager-Accessories Product Development

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Handle the end-to-end product development lifecycle for accessories, from conceptualization to production.                            
• Conduct market research to identify current trends, customer preferences, and competitive analysis for innovative accessory introduction.                             
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute product roadmaps and timelines.                            
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive accessories and integrate new technologies into product designs                            
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to develop parts, ensuring they meet quality and cost requirements. Explore innovative production techniques and provide support to existing ones for new design roll out.  Suggest methods of test functionality of new products                            
• Conduct quality audits to identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.                            
• Prepare SOR for accessories by incorporating all requirements for new development. Prepare comprehensive product plans with technical and detailed material requirement (BOM) for cost estimates by SSU / CDMM.                            
• Design Proposal to meet the specified Performance, Weight, Cost etc. with limited guidance & conceptualizing & designing parts & assemblies.                            
• Evaluate and suggest manufacturing process for cost and schedule plans implementation within timelines. Provide VA/VE inputs for cost reduction in existing and new products.                            
• Analyze and perform quantitative assessment of design prototypes in line with design and regulatory norms (if applicable). Approve prototypes of new designs, conduct performance analysis of prototypes and ensure assembly of products follow company’s quality parameters                            
• Co-ordination with internal (like Testing, Proto assembly, Sourcing, Qulaity, Engineering, manufacturing, customer care) / external agencies/consultants for part development, product testing, homologation, product qulaity and market quality.                             
• Making and maintaining a clear PDCA for the team and closing activities on pre- agreed timelines                            

Experience

•                
• Knowledge of Plastic parts manufaturing processes, design and development of plastic products is preferable          
• Knowledge & experience of CAD Software CATIA V5.                    

General Experience         

• 4-6 years in Product Development & Engineering

BE/B-Tech (Auto/Mech./Production.)

• Understanding of Product Development Process (Accessories Product development preferable), Project management
  "Expertise in plastic parts development, tooling. 
• Knowledge of testing, and homologation requirement.
• Knowledge of CATIA, Tooling, Tetsing, homologation, sheet metal parts, GD&T, stack up analysis etc."                    
• Understanding of various metallic & non Metallic Manufacturing process                    
• Knowledge of concepts, design and development of Interior, Exterior & Electrical accessories 
• Knowledge & experience of Design/Engineering Tools

Secondary Skills-Functional (Job Family Skills)        

• Project Management
