Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Division, the Manager – Testing Engineer (VAP) will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring validation activities for Vehicle Accessory Pack (VAP) programs. This role will ensure that accessories and VAP components meet performance, durability, safety, fitment, quality, and regulatory requirements before market launch.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Validation Strategy
- Plan and execute comprehensive testing protocols for Vehicle Accessory Pack products across development and launch phases.
- Develop validation plans, test schedules, and resource requirements aligned with program milestones and quality objectives.
Durability, Fitment & Performance Testing
- Conduct durability, fitment, environmental, and performance testing for VAP components and systems.
- Evaluate products under real-world usage conditions to ensure reliability, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
Design Verification & DVP Execution
- Prepare and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP) for VAP programs.
- Monitor test execution, analyze results, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to ensure robust product performance.
Test Reporting & Corrective Actions
- Manage test reports, validation documentation, and technical summaries.
- Track testing issues and corrective action plans, working closely with development teams to resolve concerns and achieve closure.
Homologation & Compliance Support
- Support ARAI homologation activities for VAP components and accessory systems.
- Coordinate testing and documentation requirements necessary for regulatory approvals and compliance certifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in automotive testing and validation.
- Experience in Design Verification Plan (DVP) preparation and execution.
- Strong understanding of test planning and validation processes.
- Experience in Vehicle Accessory Pack (VAP) validation and fitment testing.
- Knowledge of regulatory testing and homologation requirements.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in automotive testing, validation, quality engineering, product development, or homologation roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs, testing agencies, vehicle programs, or accessories businesses preferred.
- Exposure to ARAI homologation, vehicle testing, durability validation, and compliance processes will be an advantage.
