Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, Manager – NPD Engineer (Electrical & Electronics) will be responsible for the development and integration of electrical and electronic systems for vehicle and accessory programs. This role will drive end-to-end product development activities for electrical architectures, wiring harnesses, and electronic components, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Electronics Product Development
- Develop electrical architecture, wiring harnesses, and electronic systems from concept through production launch.
- Ensure robust system design, functional performance, and seamless integration with vehicle and accessory platforms.
Supplier Development & Component Validation
- Manage E&E supplier development, technical reviews, capability assessments, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee component validation activities to ensure compliance with quality, reliability, and performance standards.
System Validation & Compliance
- Support DFMEA/FMEA activities to proactively identify and mitigate product and process risks.
- Drive Design Verification Plan (DVP) execution, testing, and validation activities for electrical and electronic systems.
- Support homologation and regulatory compliance requirements to ensure adherence to applicable standards and safety regulations.
System Integration & Testing
- Coordinate with engineering, software, and testing teams on system integration, issue resolution, and design improvements.
- Support development and validation of interfaces between electrical systems, control modules, and accessory applications.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in automotive Electrical & Electronics (E&E) systems.
- Hands-on experience with CAN Bus communication protocols.
- Proficiency in wiring harness design, routing, and validation.
- Strong knowledge of DFMEA/FMEA, DVP, and validation processes.
- Understanding of automotive electrical architecture and system integration.
- Experience in supplier development, component validation, and product launch activities.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in automotive electrical & electronics engineering, wiring harness development, or new product development.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
- Experience with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or automotive component manufacturers preferred.
- Exposure to homologation, validation testing, and communication protocols such as CAN will be an advantage.
