Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, the Assistant Manager – Testing Engineer (Body & Trim Accessories) will be responsible for validating vehicle body and trim accessories including claddings, body kits, spoilers, trims, garnish parts, and interior enhancement products. This role will ensure products achieve the required standards of fit, finish, performance, durability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Body & Trim Validation
- Plan and execute testing programs for exterior and interior trim accessories.
- Validate appearance, fitment, dimensional accuracy, and functional requirements.
Durability & Environmental Testing
- Conduct vibration, weathering, UV exposure, thermal cycling, corrosion, and durability testing.
- Evaluate material and finish performance under real-world operating conditions.
Fitment & Vehicle Integration
- Conduct fitment and assembly validation on vehicle platforms.
- Ensure compatibility with existing vehicle architecture and production requirements.
Homologation & Documentation
- Manage homologation documentation and regulatory compliance requirements where applicable.
- Coordinate with certification bodies to support approvals.
Quality Improvement
- Analyze field concerns and validation failures.
- Drive corrective actions with Product Development and Supplier teams.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in body and trim validation.
- Knowledge of fitment testing, environmental testing, and durability validation.
- Experience with DVP execution and homologation processes.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in automotive body, trim, or accessories testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related discipline.
