Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

To support planning, execution, commissioning, operation and maintenance of centralized electrical utilities and infrastructure for a Greenfield Automotive Manufacturing Plant, ensuring safe, reliable and energy-efficient power distribution across Press Shop, Body Shop, Paint Shop, TCF, Aggregates, Warehouse and Common Facilities.

Roles and responsibilities:

Greenfield Project Phase:

  • Support planning, execution and monitoring of Common Electrical Infrastructure activities including substations, HT/LT distribution systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, synchronization panels, PCC/MCC panels, cable laying, street lighting and utility power distribution networks.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders for utility load planning, installation, testing and commissioning activities to ensure infrastructure readiness for Start of Production (SOP).
  • Support implementation and integration of SCADA, EMS (Energy Management Systems), energy metering systems and other electrical monitoring solutions across the plant infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, project schedules, statutory requirements, electrical standards and safety guidelines during execution and commissioning activities.

Operations & Facility Management Phase:

  • Support preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of substations, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, switchgear, PCC/MCC panels, street lighting and power distribution systems to ensure uninterrupted utility availability.
  • Monitor energy consumption, power quality and equipment health parameters, and support energy conservation, reliability improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Coordinate AMC vendors, contractors and service providers, monitor work execution and ensure compliance with quality, safety and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain electrical asset records, statutory inspection reports, maintenance history and MIS reports, while supporting plant expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades and electrical safety compliance activities.

Experience

5+ years in electrical utilities, industrial infrastructure, facilities management or plant engineering with exposure to Greenfield automotive, manufacturing or large industrial projects. Experience in Central Utility and Substation operations preferred.
