Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

To Support planning, execution, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure and utilities for Paint Shop to ensure project readiness during Greenfield development and reliable power availability, safety, environmental compliance and operational excellence post SOP

Roles and responsibilities:

Greenfield Project Phase

  • Support execution and monitoring of electrical infrastructure activities for Paint Shop, including HT/LT distribution systems, substations, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, MCCs, PCCs, cable routing networks and electrical utility systems as per project schedules, quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems required for paint booths, HVAC systems, air handling units, chilled water systems, process equipment and utility infrastructure to ensure readiness for equipment installation, trials and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Production, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and contractor teams to ensure timely completion of project activities and closure of commissioning punch points.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, electrical standards, statutory requirements, environmental norms and safety regulations during project execution and commissioning activities.

Operations & Facility Management Phase

  • Support preventive and breakdown maintenance of substations, transformers, DG sets, MCCs, PCCs, UPS systems, lighting systems and power distribution networks to ensure uninterrupted Paint Shop operations.
  • Monitor power consumption, equipment health, electrical system performance and utility reliability, and support implementation of energy management, reliability improvement and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate contractor and vendor activities, verify work completion and ensure adherence to quality, safety and delivery requirements for maintenance and project works.
  • Maintain maintenance records, electrical asset history, statutory inspection records and MIS reports, while supporting expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, utility enhancements and electrical safety compliance activities.

Experience

5+ years in electrical utilities, infrastructure or plant engineering with exposure to Greenfield automotive projects. Paint Shop projects involving HVAC electrical systems, ovens, chillers and hazardous areas.
