Sr. Manager - Building, Utilities & Other Infrastructure for Common Infra (Electrical)

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

Lead planning, execution, commissioning and operational readiness of common electrical infrastructure for the Greenfield Automotive Manufacturing Facility and ensure reliable operation, maintenance, compliance, energy efficiency and future expansion support of electrical assets throughout the plant lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution and commissioning of plant-wide common electrical infrastructure projects during the Greenfield phase, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget targets and operational readiness requirements.
  • Drive development of substations, HT/LT power distribution systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, synchronization systems, street lighting networks and utility power infrastructure across the manufacturing facility.
  • Review electrical designs, load calculations, single line diagrams (SLDs), technical specifications and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, statutory regulations and future expansion plans.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering and Project teams to ensure seamless integration of common electrical infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Manage consultants, contractors, vendors and utility service providers to achieve project objectives related to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, budget utilization, installation quality and execution risks, and drive corrective actions to ensure timely completion of project milestones and SOP readiness.
  • Establish preventive maintenance, TPM and reliability improvement systems for substations, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems and power distribution assets to ensure long-term operational reliability.
  • Monitor energy consumption, power quality, electrical asset performance and utility KPIs, and drive energy conservation, cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations, inspections, audits and utility-related approvals throughout project and operational phases.
  • Support infrastructure modernization, capacity expansion, utility augmentation and future business growth requirements while ensuring reliable and sustainable power availability across the plant.

Experience

10-15 Years in relevant field

Industry Preferred

Automotive OEM / Auto Component / Manufacturing / EPC Projects 

Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech Electrical Engineering
