Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Purpose of the role:

Lead statutory liaison, regulatory compliance and government relations activities related to electrical infrastructure and utilities for the Greenfield Automotive Manufacturing Facility and ensure timely approvals, compliance adherence, project execution support and operational readiness throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead statutory, regulatory and government liaison activities for electrical infrastructure and utilities during the Greenfield project phase to ensure timely approvals, clearances and compliance required for project execution, commissioning and Start of Production (SOP).
  • Coordinate with Electrical Inspectorate, CEIG, DISCOMs, Fire Department, Pollution Control Board and other regulatory authorities for approvals related to substations, HT/LT systems, DG sets, transformers, electrical installations and utility infrastructure.
  • Drive planning and monitoring of approval schedules, compliance requirements, statutory milestones and license renewals to support project timelines and operational readiness.
  • Review electrical layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), load calculations, technical submissions and statutory documents to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, standards and approval requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, consultants, contractors and government authorities to facilitate inspections, audits, testing approvals, energization permissions and regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor statutory compliance status, maintain approval trackers and ensure timely closure of observations, audit findings and compliance gaps.
  • Identify regulatory risks, approval bottlenecks and compliance issues, and implement mitigation plans to minimize project delays and operational impact.
  • Support commissioning activities, electrical energization approvals, occupancy clearances, utility connections and operational readiness requirements prior to SOP.
  • Maintain statutory records, licenses, permits, approval databases and compliance documentation to ensure audit readiness and effective governance.
  • Support future plant expansions, utility augmentation projects, infrastructure modifications and modernization initiatives by obtaining necessary statutory and regulatory approvals.

Experience

10-15 Years in related field

Industry Preferred

Automotive OEM / Auto Component / Manufacturing / EPC Projects 

Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech Electrical Engineering
