Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Sr. Manager at the Nagpur Hub within the Farm Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising commodity purchases that support our supply chain operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough market research and supplier evaluations to identify competitive pricing and quality value for commodities essential to our manufacturing process.
- Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, optimal pricing, and timely delivery schedules.
- Compiling and analysing price data from various suppliers to inform purchasing decisions and ensure cost efficiency.
- Preparing and overseeing formal purchasing documents and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Serving as a primary liaison between Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and commodity suppliers, fostering strong professional relationships to facilitate smooth transactions and partnership growth.
- Monitoring and tracking market price fluctuations to proactively adjust purchasing strategies, securing the best possible cost position for the organisation.
- Analysing historical commodity usage and inventory levels in conjunction with current market trends to recommend adjustments to purchasing schedules and inventory management.
- Ensuring all commodity purchase transactions are executed with accuracy and timeliness, coordinating cross-functionally to align supply chain activities with business demands.
- Collaborating with supply chain planning and control teams to integrate purchasing activities into broader operational planning and execution.
