Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • As a Territory Manager - Sales at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Farm Division, you will be entrusted with comprehensive management of a portfolio of dealerships to achieve and surpass business goals such as sales volumes, market share expansion, collection targets, product deliveries, and spare parts sales.
  • Your role will involve strategizing to build and maintain a robust and viable distribution network by appointing dealers and sub-dealers to ensure extensive market coverage.
  • You will play a pivotal role in ensuring dealerships are staffed with adequately trained manpower to maintain optimum operational efficiency.
  • Key responsibilities include coaching and facilitating dealers and their teams on implementing internal systems such as MSS and Panchatantra to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • You will ensure that dealerships have the necessary service infrastructure and lead the adoption of service systems designed to elevate the customer experience. 
  • You will coordinate and execute localized sales promotion campaigns and product launch events to bolster brand visibility and drive sales. Training dealer sales personnel on pre-sales activities, updated product features, and sales methodologies will be a continuous undertaking.
  • Vigilant monitoring of competitor activities and gathering actionable market intelligence will inform strategic decisions.
  • Designing and deploying targeted incentive schemes to motivate dealerships forms a critical part of your remit. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison with financial institutions to explore and facilitate retail financing solutions for product customers, enhancing buying feasibility.
  • Your role will require proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams and partners to align sales strategies with overall corporate objectives, ensuring consistent growth and customer satisfaction within your territory.

Experience

We seek candidates who possess a strong educational background with an engineering degree and demonstrate 4 to 7 years of relevant industry experience. Candidates holding a diploma with 7 to 9 years of experience in dealership management, sales operations, or related functions are also encouraged to apply.

Proven experience in sales territory management, dealer network development, and customer relationship management within the agricultural machinery or automotive sectors will be highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of sales processes, market dynamics, and competitor landscapes.

Experience in training and mentoring sales teams, developing incentive programs, and executing promotional events will distinguish strong candidates. Familiarity with financial products related to retail and equipment financing is preferable, showcasing the ability to collaborate with financial institutions.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are essential to build effective relationships with dealers, sub-dealers, and cross-functional teams.

Industry Preferred

Preferred industry experience includes agricultural machinery, automotive, farm equipment, or related industrial sales sectors where managing multi-location dealer networks and sales teams is fundamental. Candidates with backgrounds in FMCG or retail sales with extensive field management exposure may also find this role suitable if they possess relevant skills in dealer coordination and sales execution.

Experience in industries emphasizing customer-centric service delivery, product launch management, and strategic sales initiatives will be valuable as these competencies align with the core responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications

Candidates must have attained an engineering degree or a relevant diploma, complemented by the corresponding years of experience as outlined. Academic credentials should demonstrate a strong foundation in technical and managerial concepts applicable to sales and dealership management.

Additional certifications or training in sales management, leadership development, and customer relationship management are advantageous. Proficiency in using sales CRM tools, market analysis software, and standard office productivity applications will enhance your effectiveness in this position.
