Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
• Responsible for ensuring smooth working of Shift Fire Safety operations. • Responsible for adherence to OHSMS & EMS certification and guidelines. • MIS and reporting to management on FIRE safety hazards and related issues. • Managing shift operations including 3 fire tenders and fire fighting crew. • Conduct periodic Mock drills and ensure fitness and calibration of Fire equipment’s. • Liaise with external agencies – Fire and Safety department. • Ensure strict adherence to hot work / confined space permit rules and execution. • Provide awareness to employees related to fire safety through periodic trainings and demos. • Conduct fire safety training programmes (Fire Prevention & Rescue Operations) for employees at various levels. • Safety training to contractor manpower before start of work and periodic upgradation. • Participate and organise various programs during Fire Service week to promote awareness on fire and Safety. • Monitor and reduce fire load in plant premises. • Conduct periodic fire safety observation rounds in shop area to identify unsafe conditions and acts pertaining to fire emergency. • Conduct incident investigation of fire incidences / near misses, and verify actions taken with appropriate record upkeeping. • Responsible for Preventive maintenance / inspections of all fire fighting installations as per legal requirements and defined M&M guidelines. • Organize & conduct safety inspection tour, safety audits in shops and in new project sites along with shop safety committee members involving HOD to identify process Safety, hazard specific observations, and ensure its closure. • To guide Sr. leadership team in respect of high potential hazards /risks for its timely mitigation. • Ensure Contractor Fire & safety management for new projects- Preparation of contractor safety manual, check sheets & its monitoring at project sites. • Defining Fire safety requirements at planning stage for new projects & ensure its implementation with project team. • Involve in incident investigation, Gemba and closure of the corrective action. Deployment of corrective actions in other applicable areas and verification of closure. • Learnings from other plant incidents and check its feasibility of implementation at plant as appropriate. |
