Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Management Trainee Sales:
- Establish and nurture strong, professional relationships with existing Key Accounts, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Dealers to foster mutual growth and trust. Collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain high operational standards and deliver business excellence within defined boundaries.
- Continuously monitor account performance metrics, analyze trends, and proactively identify any areas that require attention. Coordinate with allied functions to implement corrective actions ensuring optimal operational efficiency and best-in-class customer service delivery.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic sales plans, in collaboration with department heads, aimed at enhancing revenue generation across states with underperforming market presence. Identify growth opportunities through data-driven insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis.
- New Business and Customer Development: Conduct comprehensive market research to gain deep understanding of customer preferences, industry trends, and emerging demands. Identify potential customers, understand their specific needs and product applications, and effectively articulate the value proposition of our offerings. Deliver tailored product demonstrations and solutions that align with customer requirements and company capabilities.
- Ensure consistent delivery of outstanding customer service by maintaining high responsiveness, resolving issues promptly, and fostering long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.
As a Management Trainee, you will undertake intensive training and hands-on experience across sales functions, equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive business growth and excel within the Powerol business unit at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
Experience
Essential Experience and Skills Required:
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, enabling informed decision-making and effective problem solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that facilitate clear and persuasive interactions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to perform well in collaborative team environments and adapt swiftly to dynamic, fast-paced business settings.
- A customer-centric approach combined with effective problem-solving capabilities to handle diverse client queries and challenges.
- Competence in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare reports, presentations, and perform data analysis.
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning and professional growth, with a commitment to continuous improvement and development.
Industry Preferred
The preferred industrial background for candidates includes experience or academic exposure in the Genset (Generator Sets) industry. Familiarity with power generation equipment markets, customer segments, and related technical knowledge will be considered advantageous for this role. Candidates from sectors related to electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering with insight into industrial engines or power solutions will align well with the position's responsibilities.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field providing a solid foundation in business principles and market dynamics.
- Fundamental understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and strategic business development.
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, ensuring a good grasp of product applications and industry standards.
- Flexibility to travel as required and willingness to adapt to varied working hours to meet business needs.

- Previous engagement in sales roles, internships, or projects that demonstrate practical sales experience and customer engagement.
