Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth through strategic management of international telecom accounts, key clients, and export house partnerships. The Manager will spearhead business expansion in global markets, focusing on telecom infrastructure, equipment, and services, while leveraging and nurturing the Export House network within India to unlock additional international opportunities.
The Manager - International Business will lead efforts to identify, nurture, and expand opportunities with telecom operators, key enterprise accounts, and export houses (both domestically and internationally). A key focus will be on tapping export opportunities through the established Export House network in India and maintaining excellent relationships with them to facilitate seamless global outreach. This position requires a blend of strategic sales acumen, market intelligence, and cross-cultural negotiation skills to achieve sales targets, penetrate new regions, and ensure compliance with export regulations. Success in this role will contribute directly to the company's global market share in the telecom sector.
Account Management & Growth: Develop and execute tailored strategies for managing a portfolio of key international telecom accounts and export houses, aiming for 20-30% YoY revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities in emerging telecom markets (e.g., APAC, EMEA, LATAM), conducting market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and lead generation to secure strategic partnerships.
Export House Network Management: Proactively tap into and capitalize on export opportunities through the Export House network within India; identify high-potential Export Houses, channel telecom products/services through them for international markets and drive collaborative export initiatives to expand reach and volume.
Relationship Building:- Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with C-level executives, procurement teams, and decision-makers in telecom operators, key accounts, and especially Export Houses across India; represent the company at international trade shows, conferences, client meetings, and domestic export forums to strengthen partnerships.
Export & Compliance: Oversee export documentation, logistics coordination, and adherence to international trade regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, customs tariffs, DGFT guidelines) to ensure seamless delivery of telecom products/services.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting:- Prepare accurate sales pipelines, quarterly forecasts, and performance reports using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce); collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, legal) to mitigate risks and optimize deal closures.
Team Collaboration:- Need to closely work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Accounts, Legal to execute Telecom project end to end.
Market Intelligence: Monitor global telecom trends, regulatory changes (including India's Foreign Trade Policy), and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and recommend product/service enhancements.
Experience
8+ years in international sales/business development within the telecom/IT sector
Industry Preferred
- Industry Exposure: Prior roles in telecom equipment suppliers, network operators, export houses, or export consulting firms in India.
Qualifications
Education | Bachelor's degree in either of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, Telecommunications, or related field; MBA or Master's preferred. |
General Requirements
Technical Skills :- Product Knowledge about Generators, Relevant experience will be added advantage
Soft Skills: - Excellent negotiation and communication skills (verbal/written) in English; additional languages (highly desirable; cultural sensitivity for global interactions and strong relationship management with Indian export ecosystem stakeholders. |
Achievements: Demonstrable success in entering new markets, leveraging Export House networks, or turning around underperforming accounts.
Other - Willingness to travel internationally and domestically; ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment; strong ethical standards for compliance and integrity
