Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Transmission in the Farm Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will take a pivotal role in managing and optimising manufacturing operations within the Transmission department. You will lead efforts to control and reduce manufacturing costs through boosting productivity on the production lines and minimising scrap, consumables, and manpower wastage. Key deliverables include:
- Planning, monitoring, and managing departmental budgets with attention to cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
- Achieving and maintaining SPR (Schedule, Productivity, Reliability) improvements beyond 90% by implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conducting detailed defects data analysis to identify root causes and develop robust countermeasures to enhance product quality and reduce rejections.
- Analyzing market complaints, driving resolution processes and ongoing monitoring to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability.
- Leading, mentoring, and inspiring the assembly manufacturing team to meet targets related to PQCDSM (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale).
- Overseeing on-time delivery of products aligned with production plans, ensuring seamless coordination across production, supply chain, and quality assurance teams.
- Coordinating effectively with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers to drive process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
- Managing new product establishment activities, including planning and executing the introduction of mass production lines according to quality and delivery requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to training schedules for both workers and staff, thereby fostering skill development, safety awareness and operational excellence.
- Daily manpower management including conflict resolution and maintaining a harmonious and motivated workforce.
- Regularly conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback to optimize team productivity and engagement.
- Performing gap analysis to identify production losses, quality deficiencies, and equipment breakdowns; developing improvement plans focused on mitigating these issues.
- Synchronizing parts requirements for different product models, maintaining inventory balance, and avoiding production delays.

- Documented experience in defect analysis, quality improvement techniques, and market complaint resolution processes.
- Demonstrated capability in managing teams effectively, including conflict resolution and performance management.
- Familiarity with new product development and mass production ramp-up processes.
- Coordination with cross-functional teams and external vendors to drive continuous improvement.
