As a key member of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's manufacturing team, you will be entrusted with enhancing equipment uptime while maintaining optimal maintenance costs. Your primary focus will be on implementing robust maintenance strategies designed to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes. This role requires designing and applying new manufacturing technologies specifically for electric propulsion systems, including assembly, laser welding, and testing operations. Developing appropriate tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support these processes will also be part of your scope.
You will be responsible for formulating and executing comprehensive maintenance planning, including detailed Manufacturing Failure Mode Effect Analysis (MFMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to foresee and prevent breakdowns. Close collaboration with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams will be essential to identify improvement areas and monitor plant efficiencies continuously.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Siemens PLC, Automation techniques, and SCADA applications to effectively oversee production equipment maintenance.
- Plan, schedule, and carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on various machinery such as robotic systems, laser welding machines, DC nut runners, and assembly conveyors, ensuring minimal downtime and maximized productivity.
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to swiftly resolve automation, electrical, and mechanical issues, minimizing equipment downtime.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory of critical spare parts and essential maintenance tools to support operational excellence and avoid production delays.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to documentation standards aligned with ISO, IATF, ZWLF, and other relevant statutory requirements.
- Lead training initiatives for maintenance operators focusing on safe work practices and Reliable Centered Maintenance (RCM), empowering them to independently manage routine tasks.
- Understand key battery parameters and the relationship between equipment performance and product output to optimize production quality.
- Apply strong problem-solving capabilities to address technical and manufacturing challenges effectively.
- Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, adapting flexibly to support projects from concept through to launch, while engaging with suppliers and multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and a results-driven, customer-oriented mindset are essential.
- Possess foundational knowledge in servo drives, HVAC systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics to enhance troubleshooting and maintenance capabilities.
Additional responsibilities include leveraging proficiency in PLC, SCADA, robotics, and automation to elevate operational systems, conducting in-depth failure mode analyses, and exploring new technologies such as Poka-Yoke to prevent defects and optimize processes. Efficient resource utilisation and maintenance cost optimisation remain central to your role, ensuring sustainability and productivity are balanced.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, providing a strong technical foundation for the role. Additionally, educational qualifications such as a Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, or a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical or Automobile disciplines are considered valuable, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of maintenance management within automotive manufacturing.

This experience should encompass hands-on maintenance in manufacturing environments, with demonstrable involvement in production machinery upkeep, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience within automotive, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors is highly preferred, as it equips the candidate with practical insights into production demands, safety standards, and quality management systems. Exposure to high-volume assembly lines, electric vehicle propulsion systems, and automation technologies will be beneficial to succeed in this role.
Throughout their tenure, candidates should have demonstrated their ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, showing leadership potential and a capacity to adapt to evolving technologies and process innovations.

A solid background in battery assembly is highly desirable, providing an understanding of the intricacies and quality requirements associated with electric vehicle battery production. Experience in leading or supervising maintenance teams adds a valuable dimension, highlighting capabilities in team management, training, and operational leadership.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for conducting failure mode analyses and executing preventive maintenance strategies effectively. Familiarity with servo drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, HVAC controls, and industrial safety standards further distinguishes top candidates.
