As the Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager in Production (Body Shop) at Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless production operations within the Body PU department at the Zaheerabad facility. Your core mission is to drive excellence in quality and punctual vehicle delivery, thereby achieving high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
- Production Scheduling & Execution: Rigorously adhere to daily and monthly production schedules. Monitor and manage daily work priorities to ensure targets are met efficiently while strictly complying with safety protocols and the Quality Management System.
- Manpower Management: Lead, motivate, and manage shop floor associates, resolving operational issues and conflicts to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Take ownership of addressing internal and external quality concerns promptly. Implement corrective and preventive actions to sustain quality standards and work closely with quality audits.
- Skill Development: Oversee the execution of training plans aimed at enhancing the skills of the production workforce, fostering continuous improvement in performance.
- Process Control & Audit: Conduct regular process audits, ensuring non-conformance cases are identified, addressed, and closed effectively. Implement and monitor adherence to systems such as 5S, IPMS, QDMS, and TPM.
- Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of fixture operation and maintenance, pneumatic systems, and automotive vehicle systems to optimize production processes. Identify bottlenecks and reduce cycle times to enhance operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement & Safety: Lead initiatives in Job Hazards (JH) analysis and 5S activities, integrating safety and quality with productivity goals. Maintain orderly production environments while fostering a culture of safety.
- Operational Maintenance: Maintain Overall Line Effectiveness (OLE) records, promptly resolve minor stoppages and breakdowns through Immediate Corrective Actions (ICA) and Preventive Corrective Actions (PCA), minimizing downtime and recurrence.
- Inventory & Waste Management: Ensure timely disposal of non-conforming products and scrap, maintaining production integrity and environmental compliance.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work in coordination with the Manager- Production (Body Shop) and other cross-functional teams to align production objectives with organizational goals.

Educational Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a robust educational background to effectively manage and lead production within the Body Shop environment. Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a recognised and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, a Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering is acceptable, especially for candidates with significant work experience.
Continuous professional development and certification in relevant manufacturing and quality management systems will be highly advantageous.
General Experience
General Experience
Prospective applicants should bring demonstrated industry experience relevant to automotive manufacturing, specifically within body shop production or similar manufacturing domains. The experience range generally expected is:
- Between 3 to 5 years in roles involving production planning, execution, and shop floor management within automotive or related manufacturing sectors.
- Hands-on experience with implementing and sustaining Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), TPM initiatives, and safety protocols.
- Proven ability to manage teams, drive continuous improvement projects, and handle operational challenges in a high-paced production environment.
Experience working in ISO-certified automotive plants or with large-scale manufacturing units will be particularly valuable.

To excel in the role of Manager - Production Body PU, candidates must demonstrate the following critical experiences and competencies:
- Deep knowledge of production issue resolution, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation in a body shop context.
- Working familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
- Technical understanding of pneumatics, wiring, part fitment, sealing technologies, and comprehensive automotive vehicle systems integral to body shop operations.
- Expertise in quality management systems, specifically ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), and tools such as Poka-Yoke, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and weld integrity inspection.
- Proficiency with quality control methodologies and statistical tools including the MYB approach and the seven quality control tools, applied to monitor and improve production quality.
- Experience in automation settings related to new auto body parts, including cargo/chassis assembly, torque integrity validation, and 1D & 3D geometry checks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused mindset, ensuring quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and industrial relations skills to foster a cooperative team environment and manage any workforce-related issues effectively.
