Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Develop and implement effective manpower planning and deployment strategies to meet production requirements while optimising resource utilisation.
- Oversee material planning, shop inventory management, and production scheduling to ensure seamless shift execution and achievement of daily production targets.
- Collaborate proactively with suppliers and customers to facilitate efficient shift operations and maintain strong communication and coordination channels.
- Manage shift scheduling, monitor absenteeism closely, and implement control measures to maintain optimal workforce availability and productivity.
- Supervise cleanliness and maintenance activities within the Paint shop to adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring a hygienic and safe working environment.
- Exercise operational control over shift activities by tracking shop control indices and ensuring adherence to the principles of Daily Work Management for continuous process improvement.
- Drive productivity improvements by initiating and leading kaizen events and KK themes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement among the team.
- Implement initiatives aimed at reducing costs associated with fuel, oil, and steel (FOS), as well as minimising hazardous waste and fire load risks in the production environment.
- Champion sustainability efforts by identifying and executing water consumption reduction projects and other environmentally responsible practices within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safety regulations, and quality standards, while fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
- Support cross-functional teams in troubleshooting production issues, recommending corrective actions, and facilitating knowledge sharing across shifts.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on operational metrics, production performance, and improvement initiatives to senior management.

Education Qualification
Applicants are requested to hold a Diploma or a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering disciplines. Additional certifications in operations management, quality control, or lean manufacturing principles will be considered advantageous.
Educational background should reflect a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and industrial safety standards. Candidates with exposure to paint shop technologies and experience with environmental sustainability initiatives will find this background beneficial.

General Experience
The position requires candidates to possess 3 to 7 years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or related heavy industries. Experience should demonstrate a firm grasp of production operations, shift management, and resource optimisation techniques.
Work history must include comprehensive exposure to production planning, inventory control, supplier and customer coordination, and operational excellence initiatives. Candidates with prior experience leading small teams or project groups during shifts will be preferred.
Experience in driving lean manufacturing principles, implementing kaizens, and contributing to continuous productivity improvements is critical. Familiarity with quality management systems, safety compliance, and environmental sustainability practices will enhance suitability for this role.
Exposure to paint shop processes or surface coating operations within industrial manufacturing settings will be advantageous and support quicker integration into the team.
