Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Electrical and Control Engineer - Deputy Manager, Paint PU Maintenance (Electrical)
As an integral member of the Paint PU Maintenance team at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence of electrical and control systems within our manufacturing processes. Your role will centrally focus on maintaining and enhancing the reliability, availability, and performance of electrical equipment critical to paint shop operations.
- System Controls Management: Configure, troubleshoot, and optimise Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) across leading platforms including Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens.
- Equipment Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee maintenance strategies for conveyors, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), PLC panels, and robot controllers, ensuring maximum uptime and minimum production disruptions.
- Process Control & Instrumentation: Collaborate with process engineers to support process control activities, instrumentation calibration, and ensure precise control during paint application processes, driving consistent quality output.
- Electrical Systems Expertise: Utilize comprehensive knowledge of switchgear, MCCs, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to lead electrical troubleshooting and improvements in safety and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Engage in root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive Kaizen projects aimed at reducing equipment downtime and enhancing system robustness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams to guarantee electrical systems comply with operational standards and statutory regulations.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system modifications, and compliance audits to uphold industry standards and support regulatory inspections.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and encouraging adherence to best practices in electrical maintenance.
This role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Educational Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a strong academic foundation in engineering disciplines relevant to electrical and electronic control systems. The following qualifications are essential:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent degree from a recognised university.
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) specialising in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields is highly valued.
- Additional certifications in PLC programming, industrial automation, or control systems will be advantageous.
Educational credentials should demonstrate a solid understanding of electrical theory, control systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation principles to effectively contribute to the Paint PU Maintenance function.
General Experience

The ideal candidate will have a breadth of experience that enables them to effectively contribute to and manage electrical maintenance activities in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Desired experience includes:
- A minimum of 2 years' to a maximum of 8 years' professional experience in electrical engineering roles, particularly pertaining to factory automation, maintenance, and systems control.
- Demonstrable experience working within automotive manufacturing or a similarly complex industrial environment is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with control systems, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical panels and drives.
- Strong familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices to ensure system reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Experience interfacing with multidisciplinary teams to optimise production systems and implement process improvements.
