Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- As the Deputy Manager - Supply Chain Planning & Control (SCPC) in the Farm Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for planning and procurement operations across our four principal platforms: LTV, MHCV, U202, and W201. Managing a diverse portfolio of approximately 800 to 1,000 components per platform, your role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination between local and global suppliers to maintain a robust and adaptable supply chain that meets stringent criteria for quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Your core responsibilities will include spearheading strategic cost benchmarking projects aimed at uncovering sustainable cost-saving opportunities while preserving supplier reliability and product integrity. You will be instrumental in optimizing inventory levels to achieve lean operations, thereby enhancing working capital utilization without compromising service levels.
- In collaboration with cross-functional teams—spanning engineering, production, and sales—you will facilitate the successful introduction of innovative agricultural machinery into fast-moving markets, aligning procurement tactics to overarching business goals. Leading the management of supplier networks across several hubs and manufacturing plants, you will foster open communication channels and strengthen long-term partnerships.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a distinct preference for qualifications in Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Critically, within this period, a minimum of 3 to 4 years should be devoted to specialized roles in supply chain management or sourcing, with tangible involvement in operational execution.
This level of experience equips you with a comprehensive understanding of complete supply chain cycles, including procurement strategy formulation, supplier relationship building, and inventory management. Your background should reflect successful navigation of complex, global supply networks and an ability to manage fluctuations in market demands and financial pressures.
Proven leadership in directing cross-functional teams, overseeing large-scale initiatives, and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups is essential to excel in this dynamic role.
Critical Experience
Essential experience for this position includes prior leadership experience as Head of Buyer operations across multiple geographical hubs and manufacturing facilities, demonstrating capability in managing extensive supplier ecosystems, executing procurement strategies at scale, and ensuring alignment of purchasing activities with corporate goals.
Expertise in Cost Price Performance Control (CPPC) and logistics management is mandatory, evidencing your grasp of cost control methodologies and the intricacies of supply chain logistics.
