Dy. Manager - Paint Shop Maintenance

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Ensure consistent and efficient operation of the paint shop line by proactively maintaining equipment to minimise downtime and disruptions.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve chronic and recurring issues to enhance overall system reliability and performance.
  • Plan and manage inventory of spare parts to guarantee availability while optimising costs and storage space.
  • Lead and execute preventive maintenance activities to avoid unplanned breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform thorough root cause analysis on breakdown incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures for continuous improvement.
  • Drive and support all safety initiatives within the paint shop to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate successful implementation of new projects and technological upgrades in the paint shop to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and engineering departments to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reports related to maintenance activities, incidents, and improvements for transparency and audit purposes.
  • Mentor and support junior maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.

Education Qualification

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree specialising in Electronics or a Bachelor's degree in Technology, preferably with a focus on mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines relevant to manufacturing environments.

Additional certifications or training in maintenance management, reliability engineering, or related technical areas would be advantageous and contribute to a successful integration within the role.

Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and modern maintenance practices is essential.

The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

General Experience

Candidates should have a general experience spanning between 2 to 8 years in maintenance roles within manufacturing settings, ideally in paint shop or similar process environments.

Experience working with CNC machinery, drive systems, or other automated equipment is highly desirable.

A proven track record of managing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex machinery, and supporting production teams underpins success in this role.

This role demands strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and coordinate maintenance activities.
