Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Deputy Manager - Production (Hydraulics) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Zaheerabad, your core responsibilities will encompass overseeing and driving the efficient manufacturing processes of hydraulic components integral to our tractor assemblies. You will be expected to lead the production team in implementing best practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and meeting production targets aligned with the Farm Division's objectives.
Key Deliverables:
- Manage day-to-day operations in the hydraulics production unit to ensure seamless workflow and optimal resource utilization.
- Develop and implement robust production plans, monitor progress, and troubleshoot any operational issues.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to maintain product specifications and continuous improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing efficiency through lean manufacturing techniques and innovative process optimizations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations in the production area.
- Drive cost-effective production by minimizing waste and ensuring proper inventory management for raw materials and finished goods.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the production team fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Report production metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives to senior management regularly.
Experience
We seek candidates with a proven track record of 6 to 8 years in production management, specifically within hydraulic systems manufacturing or related mechanical production environments. Hands-on experience in the automotive or tractor manufacturing sector will be highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in managing complex production lines, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and manpower deployment.
- Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Kaizen.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze production data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Exposure to quality management systems and standards like ISO 9001 within a manufacturing context.
- Good understanding of hydraulic components' production processes, including machining, assembly, and testing.
Industry Preferred
The ideal candidate would have expertise in industries focused on automotive manufacturing, agricultural machinery, heavy equipment production, or similar manufacturing domains where hydraulics play a pivotal role. Experience within tractor manufacturing organizations or suppliers to the agricultural machinery sector will be particularly valuable.
Familiarity with large-scale production environments that emphasize precision engineering, compliance with rigorous quality benchmarks, and sustainable manufacturing is preferred.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or closely related disciplines. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and hydraulics engineering principles.
Additional certifications in production management, lean manufacturing, or quality assurance would be considered a plus.
