Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The Manager - Tractor Assembly will lead a dedicated team of officers and supervise a workforce of over 100 personnel to ensure the seamless operation of the tractor assembly line. This role requires establishing and maintaining efficient manufacturing systems and cutting-edge technologies that provide a sustainable competitive advantage. You will be accountable for spearheading initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs while introducing innovative product process technologies. A critical part of your responsibilities is enhancing plant productivity by monitoring and improving key performance indicators linked to manufacturing efficiency and output quality.
Additionally, you will champion Lean Production methodologies, promoting continuous improvement through established practices such as Poke-Yoke, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Kaizen. The role involves close oversight of internal and statutory audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Managing the Quality Assurance process to meet rigorous quality objectives is paramount, including the development of action plans that effectively address and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner with thorough follow-through reporting.
This position emphasizes deploying industry best practices to optimize operational efficiencies and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the assembly department. You will work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to align assembly operations with organizational goals, ensuring delivery of superior product quality and customer satisfaction.

Education Qualification
Ideal educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is also considered valuable and acceptable, especially when combined with relevant practical experience. Advanced certifications in manufacturing management, quality systems, or Lean methodologies will be advantageous.
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing systems and mechanical processes is essential to effectively lead tractor assembly operations. Candidates with additional training or coursework in project management, industrial engineering, or production optimization will be well-positioned to succeed.
Continuing professional development and a commitment to staying current with industry standards and emerging technologies in manufacturing and assembly processes are important elements for this role.
General Experience
The role demands a seasoned professional with 10 to 12 years of comprehensive experience within manufacturing environments, preferably with significant exposure to tractor or automobile assembly lines. Experience leading sizable teams and managing complex production processes within the manufacturing domain is crucial for success.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, quality assurance systems, and cost reduction strategies in a heavy manufacturing or automotive setting is highly desirable. A proven track record of improving plant productivity, driving operational excellence, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver results demonstrates readiness for this leadership role.
Experience working in dynamic, high-demand environments, with responsibility for both people management and process optimization, is essential. Candidates should also have experience navigating and implementing change management initiatives within production settings.
Critical Experience
Critical experience areas include deep expertise in assembly line management, preferably within the tractor or automobile industry. Candidates must have hands-on experience leading large teams in a factory setting, with direct accountability for achieving production targets, quality standards, and rigorous safety compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and sustain Lean Production Systems and continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM and Kaizen.
- Strong background in quality assurance protocols including managing internal and statutory audits to meet ISO standards and customer requirements.
- Experience in driving operational cost optimization programs and introducing innovative manufacturing technologies that improve efficiency and competitiveness.
- Proven capability in handling customer complaint resolution processes, developing corrective action plans, and overseeing their successful implementation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with key manufacturing and quality management tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and occupational health and safety systems.
- Skillful in cross-departmental collaboration to foster teamwork, promote a culture of sustainability, and support organizational growth objectives within the farm division.
