Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As Manager - Tractor Assembly at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will spearhead a large team comprising over 100 officers and support staff, driving operational excellence within the Tractor Assembly & Testing Department. Your primary focus will be on establishing and continuously improving efficient manufacturing systems and leveraging advanced technologies to maintain and enhance competitive advantages in the agricultural machinery industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the tractor assembly team, ensuring clear communication, motivation, and effective resource allocation to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Implement and oversee lean manufacturing principles such as TPM, KAIZEN, and Poke-Yoke to foster a culture of continuous improvement and waste reduction.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs without compromising quality or safety, utilizing data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and statutory audits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance plant productivity, identifying bottlenecks and enabling prompt corrective actions.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring that quality objectives are achieved consistently, and implement action plans for resolution of customer complaints with timely follow-ups and comprehensive reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy industry best practices and innovative process technologies, facilitating new product integrations and optimizing existing production workflows.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring that all manufacturing activities comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards, and promote employee wellbeing.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships as they pertain to assembly components and processes, advocating for quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive employee development and training programs focused on skill enhancement, safety awareness, and operational efficiency.
