Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems ensuring full compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Drive the implementation of the HSE Strategy at the Zaheerabad tractor plant, aligning with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across all manufacturing processes and proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety hazards in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure adherence to statutory requirements and client safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
- Oversee thorough investigation of incidents and accidents including root cause analysis, implement corrective actions and drive preventive strategies.
- Design and deliver targeted training sessions and awareness programmes to educate employees on SHE guidelines, fostering a culture of safety ownership and compliance across all levels.
- Champion behavioural safety initiatives encouraging employees to actively report unsafe observations, unsafe conditions, and near misses, thereby enhancing organisational safety culture.
- Ensure strict adherence and enforcement of Permit to Work (PTW) systems for all maintenance and production related work requiring authorisation, minimizing operational safety risks.
- Manage change effectively by conducting Management of Change (MoC) reviews for all procedural and process changes impacting safety and environmental systems.
- Develop and maintain Safety Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with best practices, identify hazards, and implement preventive measures to safeguard plant operations and personnel.
- Ensure meticulous documentation and record management related to safety procedures, compliance, and audit trails, supporting transparency and accountability.
- Utilise safety data to calculate and maintain comprehensive statistics on safety performance indicators, facilitating continuous improvement and reporting to senior management.
- Collaborate with sustainability teams to contribute towards environmental targets including reduction of energy consumption, water use, and waste generation in line with corporate responsibility goals.
- Support cross-functional leadership by providing expertise on safety standards during plant expansions, modifications, or introduction of new equipment and technologies.
- Act as a role model for safety leadership, demonstrating commitment and encouraging team involvement in all safety initiatives, driving cultural change within the plant.

Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will hold relevant technical qualifications nurturing a solid grounding in engineering principles applicable within manufacturing environments. Preferred qualifications include:
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) specialising in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A strong emphasis on accredited certifications or continuing education in occupational health, safety management or environmental standards will be considered an advantage.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in health, safety and environmental regulations and best practices is essential to remain abreast of regulatory changes and technological advancements.
General Experience
The candidate should bring a blend of practical industry experience and technical expertise to meet the demands of health, safety and environment responsibilities within a large-scale manufacturing context. Specifically, the experience profile includes:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in high-volume manufacturing or chemical industries, preferably within automotive or related sectors.
- Proven exposure to implementing and monitoring OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 HSE management systems on site or within industrial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits with successful outcomes in improving workplace safety.
- Experience working in environments that demand compliance with stringent client and statutory safety standards.
- A background in managing safety training programmes and engaging workforce participation in safety culture initiatives.
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in complex manufacturing settings where safety leadership and environmental stewardship are critical.
