Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, the Assistant Manager – NPD Engineer (Trims & Wheels) will be responsible for developing and managing alloy wheels, tyres, and trim accessories from concept through production and market launch. This role will play a critical part in delivering high-quality, innovative accessory solutions that enhance vehicle aesthetics, functionality, and customer experience.
The incumbent will work closely with design, engineering, procurement, and supplier partners to ensure products meet Mahindra's standards for quality, fitment, performance, and safety while supporting timely launches and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Launch Management
- Develop and manage alloy wheels, tyres, and trim accessories throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to production launch.
- Translate product requirements into engineering specifications, ensuring alignment with vehicle design and accessory strategy
Supplier Development & Validation
- Collaborate with suppliers on tooling development, product validation, and manufacturing readiness to ensure quality and cost targets are achieved.
Tooling, Testing & Sample Validation
- Manage tooling development activities and coordinate prototype and sample creation.
- Lead fitment validation, testing, and engineering reviews to ensure compliance with performance, safety, durability, and quality standards.
Fitment Engineering & Vehicle Integration
- Support fitment studies and engineering evaluations to ensure seamless integration with vehicle platforms.
- Work closely with vehicle engineering teams to validate design compatibility and customer usability.
Catalogue & Product Information Management
- Support accessory catalogue updates by ensuring product specifications, fitment information, and technical details remain accurate and up to date.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with design, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams to drive project execution and issue resolution.
- Ensure development timelines are met while balancing quality, functionality, and cost objectives.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in wheel & tyre engineering, trim development, automotive accessories, or related product development roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Product Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in automotive OEM, automotive accessories, or component manufacturing environments preferred.
Exposure to supplier development, validation processes, and vehicle integration activities will be an advantage.

- Strong background in wheel & tyre engineering with hands-on development experience.
- Expertise in trim new product development (NPD) processes.
- Proven ability in supplier management, including approvals, validation, and performance monitoring.
